On Saturday, 14 January 2023, we once again welcomed the World Systemic Forum to our Stollen. This year’s theme was “No Collaboration Without Communication”. In keeping with the motto, there were roundtables and several “experience stations”. From art to sport to possible settlement in space, everything was there. This led to a very dynamic event and to ever new group constellations, which resulted in many exciting conversations.
Not to forget the topic “environment”, which was impressively propagated by the special guest “Frankie the Dino” at the end of the event. “Frankie the Dino” is the spokesperson for the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) and his urgent warning to us: Don’t choose extinction! We are very happy about this high visit in the gallery and that he also stopped by our “Crazy Mars Hotel”.
The environment is also of great concern to us and as VersuchsStollen we try to make a concrete contribution to the issue of sustainability. Accordingly, we are co-founders of “Mission Earth First”, where we discuss and explore approaches and possibilities on the topic of “Self-Sustaining Communities”. A possible settlement on the moon or Mars must be well thought out and tested. In line with this, we launched the Mars Habitat Challenge for start-ups 3 years ago. Resourceful start-ups that offer solutions to make life on Mars possible can realise their proof of concept in the Hagerbach as a prize – because ultimately the focus is on our planet.
The guests of the World Systemic Forum also visited our Inspiration Room on the topic of “Zero Hunger”. Here, together with SCAUT, we are looking for solutions in the area of “Underground Green Farming”. Furthermore, we are working together in the “SubSpace Engergy Hub” on the topic of energy solutions for the CO2-neutral construction site, which was also impressively addressed in the “Energy & Storage” roundtable moderated by VDE Renewable Energies.
Such a gallery offers a lot more than it appears from the outside. We look forward to more great events like the World Systemic Forum and thank the organisers of TheHus.institute. This way we can directly show the great and exciting possibilities that the “underground” has to offer and inspire our guests to new ideas.
