EFNARC examiner for nozzle operator

A scheme established to meet the construction industry's need for identifying qualified expert nozzle operators.

Sprayed concrete applications are among the most critical activities in underground construction. Properly trained and certified operators are essential. Poor application techniques not only cause unnecessary material waste through rebound and overspray and lead to poor quality, but can also compromise the structural integrity of the site, thereby jeopardizing safety. The EFNARC Nozzle Operator Certification Scheme was developed to meet the construction industry’s need for a neutral and objective certification process for sprayed concrete nozzle operators.

The Certification Scheme is implemented through experienced and trained examiners who conduct the nozzle operator training courses.

The nozzle operator course combines comprehensive concrete theory with an online examination to ensure objective assessment. In addition, cutting-edge virtual reality (VR) training is provided through our simulator partners. Practical spraying experience and hands-on assessments form a critical part of the certification process.

All examiners possess extensive experience in underground construction and sprayed concrete application and have been independently accredited by EFNARC after completing a dedicated examiner training course.

Currently, the scheme is focused on wet-mix, robotic sprayed concrete and is primarily intended for international professionals.

On behalf of EFNARC, the International Centre for Geotechnics and Underground Construction (CUC) offers courses for the certification of both nozzle operators and nozzle operator examiners.

How does your company benefit from the Nozzle Operator Examiner Certification?

  • Supports the company's compliance with the latest safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Achieve greater independence and flexibility by enabling certified examiners to provide professional training to their colleagues.
  • Provides your nozzle operator with a clear pathway for professional growth within the company.
  • Participation in the international course opens up networking opportunities that can strengthen and benefit your company.
